HR Generalist
Part-time: Three days per week, with potential to progress to full-time
Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys varied work and has a strong background in employee relations?
MSS The HR People is looking for a HR Generalist to join our team. We provide outsourced HR and employment law support to companies across Ireland, from day-to-day onsite HR support to complex employee relations matters and specialist HR projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of clients and sectors, managing meaningful HR work with the support of an experienced team.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Head of HR Services, you will provide onsite HR support to clients, manage and support employee relations cases, and complete assigned HR projects.
Your work will include, but is not limited to:
- Workplace investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, appeals and Dignity at Work matters.
- Advising managers on absence, probation, performance, conduct and capability.
- HR audits and the review and development of employee handbooks, policies, contracts and terms and conditions.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, restructuring, consultation and redundancy processes where required.
- Preparing clear, accurate correspondence, reports and meeting documentation, and maintaining confidential client records.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ practical HR experience, gained in consultancy or an in-house HR role, with significant hands-on experience in employee relations.
They should bring strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and fair procedures, the confidence to conduct formal HR meetings, and sound judgement when handling sensitive workplace matters.
Strong writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several client matters are essential. They will be comfortable working independently, while recognising when to seek guidance from the wider team.
A relevant qualification in HR, Employment Law or a related discipline is preferred, although candidates with substantial relevant experience will also be considered. Experience in HR audits, policy and handbook development, and delivering training would be an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office, a full driving licence and access to a car are required, as travel to client sites forms part of the role.
Working Arrangements
